We brought the concept of a Help-desk establishment in Palikas that is involved with. Altogether, it established four help desks in collaboration with Palikas, Beldandi Rural Municipality, Belauri Municipality, Laljhadi Rural Municipality, and Punarwas Municipality. The purpose behind this was to follow precautions on COVID-contact risk. Also, it was to provide basic health check-up facilities to the Palika visitors. This is because Palikas were one of the responsible and active agents in minimizing COVID risk during the peak time. They had to go to locals to provide health facilities and nutritional foods. Likewise, they had to provide food and groceries to the lower-class families who were shut inside the rooms and were completely out of access to food. Moreover, the Palikas had to run administrative work equally. On the other side, there was a pointless rumor of fighting with Corona applying nonsense techniques.

Thus, examining this situation, we collaborated with Palikas and an NGO, NNSWA we run 3 months long help-desk concept at Palikas. For this, we managed one of our members in the service. The desk was set at the entrance of Palikas’ buildings so that people could be provided health awareness information along with health materials like masks and sanitizer and even examined their oxygen levels with the use of an oximeter. Similarly, people were provided a help-line kind of contact number to reach the help desk in need. Through this, people were provided nutritional food and health materials to support staying in home isolation. One of the remarkable cases was of an old woman suffering from asthma. She needed oxygen daily. But, the lockdown affected her access to oxygen. So her family contacted the help-desk, and we provided her full cylinder of oxygen as we were involved in the oxygen-providing activity as well. Similarly, one of the sports groups was provided 2 gallons of sanitizer, 2 sets of oximeter, and 5 packets of masks. This way, we reached up to 20,000 people with basic sanitation materials; masks, sanitizer, oxygen and nutritional foods packages, and COVID awareness information.
